Tips for Completing Your Profile
The user profile is set out to make it the easiest to scan, however one tip for quickly completing your profile is start with the details and work up. As you add information, visual indicators like skill icons and qualification badges will automatically appear to help others quickly understand your credentials and expertise.
Start With the Details
1. Enter Your Professional Experience
Add any positions or assignments from your professional experience.
- A position is defined by having an employment contract. Example: I am a consultant at XYZ Company.
- An assignment is a temporary project that you have carried out for a client in the context of a position. Example: As a consultant at Agile Company, I carried out a Scrum Master assignment for a client.
For each position or assignment:
- βSpecify Employer and Dates: Include the employer's name along with the start and end dates. This will help organize your experience in reverse chronological order. Your experience dates directly impact your XPS (eXPerience-based Seniority) scores for linked skills.
- βGroup Multiple Assignments: If you held several assignments within a single position, use the Parent Position field to group them together, ensuring the dates align coherently.
- βUse Whoz AI (if enabled): If your organization has enabled Whoz AI, use Whoz AI to automatically rephrase your experience descriptions for clarity and impact.
- βProject Context Description: If configured, you can select a project and generate a project description based on your organization's credentials.
π§ͺ Best Practice:
Link skills to your professional experiences to improve your XPS scores. When you click a skill tag, the side panel will show which experiences contributed to that skill, helping validate your expertise to staffing managers.
2. Add any Education, Certifications, or Accreditations
- βList your relevant education and qualifications: Include degrees, certifications, and other credentials that enhance your profile. These will automatically display with visual badges (π for certifications and education, β for accreditations) throughout Whoz.
- βInclude additional skills when applicable: Highlight any supplementary skills that complement your qualifications.
- βUpload supporting documents: Attach verification files for certifications or qualifications to make it easier for managers and colleagues to validate your credentials.
π‘ Understanding Qualification Badges:
Certifications, accreditations, and education credentials display with distinct badges across your profile, in the Casting Engine, and in the Skills Matrix. This helps staffing managers quickly identify your credential types without opening your full profile.
Check Your Skills and Qualifications
3. Check Your Qualifications
- βReview your automatically populated qualifications: These are based on the information you've entered in your professional experience, education, certifications, and accreditations. Click on any qualification to open a side panel, where you can view additional details such as category, description, badge type, and any skill gaps.
- βAdd missing qualifications: To update or add a qualification, simply edit the relevant section (e.g., Education, Accreditation, Certification).
- βCompany-validated qualifications may be directly entered by your organization, contact your manager or administrator if you need to modify this.
4. Add and Evaluate Skills
The Skills section plays a crucial role in increasing your visibility in casting. By ensuring your profile includes a comprehensive list of skills, you make it easier for managers, colleagues, and staffing teams to find you based on relevant skill searches. Visual indicators on skill tags help others quickly understand which are your core skills, which are aspirations, and how they were entered.
Any skills added elsewhere in your profile will automatically appear here. Click each skill to open the enhanced side panel showing your XPS score with a qualitative label (Exposure, Regular use, Extensive use, or Deep experience), linked professional experiences, and clear indicator explanations.
Click Edit to:
- βAdd missing skills: If configured by your administrator, you can easily add multiple related skills by selecting them from predefined Skillsets or Competency types.
- βRecord proficiency levels: Indicate your skill proficiency for each entry
- βHighlight key skills: Emphasize the skills you want to be most associated with. Highlighted skills display with a star icon (β) on the right side of the skill tag.
- βBoost your XPS score: Manually add skills to your relevant experiences to improve your XPS score and increase your chances of matching on skills.
You can also optionally:
- βHide a skill from your profile: You can choose to hide skills from your public profile, but they will still be included in Casting Engine results.
- βIndicate AI-assisted skill enhancement: You can mark skills you have improved or plan to enhance with AI tools. This displays a bot icon (π€) on the skill tag. While this doesn't affect casting, it can be valuable for internal reporting within your organization.
- βAdd free-text skills: You can manually add unique skills in free text. These display with a free-text icon (βοΈ) and are less likely to appear in Casting Engine results compared to standardized skills.
Summarize Your Profile With A Concise and Engaging Bio
5. Add a Biography
Your summary provides a concise overview of your skills, experience, and accomplishments, allowing staffing managers to quickly understand your qualifications. It helps to grab their attention and highlight your most relevant achievements, making it easier for them to determine if you're a good fit for the role.
- βEnter key details: Include your job title, company, and a brief overview of your experience.
- βUse Whoz AI (if enabled): If your organization has enabled Whoz AI, you can use Whoz AI to assist in creating your biography.
- βUpdate years of experience: To modify your years of experience, update your personal information accordingly.
Check Personal Information and Add a Profile Picture
6. Check Your Personal Information
Click the 3-dot menu and select Edit personal information to ensure all your personal information is up-to-date and accurate. Whoz automatically calculates your years of experience based on the Date of entry into working life you specify in your Personal Information.
7. Add a Profile Photo
Click on your avatar to upload a current photo of yourself to complete your profile.
Finish and Submit
8. Review Your Profile Completion Checklist
Review your company's profile completion checklist for recommendations on how to further enhance your profile.
9. Submit
Once you've completed all sections, either submit your profile for validation or confirm the version depending on your organization's setup.
If your organization has configured a profile validation workflow, when you click Submit version, your manager or mentor will receive a notification to review and validate your profile.
If your organization is using the standard workflow, you can mark your version as confirmed.
